So tonight I'm going out for the first time in years, I never really venture anywhere on nights out because I'm a completely rubbish drinker!! I figured that I best make an effort for the occasion so I spent a couple of hours last night making preparations. What better way to start the pampering process than to run a hot bath; showers are ok when you're just doing a bit of 'functional' cleaning but when you're in it for the long haul it's got to be a bath. Obviously I put a Lush bath bomb in my bath, last night I opted for 'Enchanted' which turned the water the same colour as lucozade and got my choice of products ready to use.
I knew I wanted to fake tan so a good body scrub was a must; I chose Soap & Glory Flake Away because a lot of the grains tend to disappear as you're scrubbing so you don't feel like you're sitting on sand once you've finished. I paid particular attention to my knees and elbows which are the parts where fake tan will go a bit patchy if anywhere.
Yesterday I treat myself to Lee Stafford Hair Growth treatment because I'd heard such good things about it and they were on 3 for 2 in Boots so my friend Beka got one aswell and some hair oils. I was a bit worried at first that this might be really grease inducing on my hair because I have naturally quite oily roots but I popped an egg sized amount from root to tip (me putting conditioning products on my root is usually a no-no) and left it on for 5 minutes as it says on the pot and rinsed out. It left my hair feeling so much more manageable than normal, I can't wait to see if it actually helps growth.
When I'd got out of the bath and my face was still warm I popped some Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm on and left it for 10 minutes as a mask, it was really nice because it just melted into my skin with it being still warm, it made my skin feel so clean when I wiped it off, the smell is also really relaxing which is perfect for a bit of pamper time. Normally I love clay masks but they don't smell anywhere near as nice as Emma Hardie.
I followed this immediately with a pea sized amount of Hydraluron then Clarins Hydraquench moisturiser and then I just laid on the bed and relaxed, waiting for it all to soak in. I was going to put some body moisturiser on but I figured that it might not go too well with fake tan.
I left the tanning rituals until a little bit later, I just put some clothes on and went to the pub for a bit because I know it's not good to mix fake tan with other perfumed products as it doesn't develop as well. I came home and cracked open my new tube of Xen Tan Dark Lotion. I should really fake tan more often because I love how it makes my skin look and I know it sounds odd but I love the way it smells aswell! As I'm sat typing I'm looking at my arms and my hands and they are completely streak free, it develops into a really natural looking tan even for someone as pale as I am normally.
So I'm now sat in my tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt just passing time by before I start getting ready to party tonight, can't wait!
How often do you get to pamper yourself, and what are your favourite pamper products?
I hope that you're having a good evening! Emma Hardie amazing face cleansing balm is definitely my most used pamper product, it's divine! I don't often pamper myself, but when I do, it's usually on a sunday evening! xx
